The House will certainly impeach Trump.
The Senate will acquit. Of the 52 Republican Senators, at least 19 would have to vote for conviction.
Ain’t gonna happen.
So Trump is safe. Taxpayers will support him in comfort for the rest of his life
Meanwhile, we have 8 Senators who have already openly committed treason. Many, many more supported the treason, but turned chickenshit when it came time to cast their vote.
Similar story in the House.
Congress has so many traitors that they are self-protecting.
America no longer has a functioning legislative body accountable to the people.
The executive branch does not have enough power to fix our broken democracy. I doubt it has enough power to even survive the next 4 years, at least in the eyes of the American people.
Ironically, the Republican-packed Supreme Court is irrelevant.
The Jan 6, 2021 coup succeeded. Everything that follows is merely the death throes of democracy.
I truly hope I’m totally wrong, but I fear I’m not.
